Nate Woodard

Arizona Baseball Director

Nate played football, basketball, and baseball growing up; he was a three-time All-State centerfielder. Recruited in two sports, he played baseball at Montgomery College in Maryland from 1997-99 and was drafted by the MLB Florida (now Miami) Marlins. He coached baseball at multiple programs and worked in the scouting department for the Triple AAA Omaha Royals before taking a recruiting specialist post at Next College Student Athlete, one of the nation’s leaders in preparing athletes for the recruiting process.
Nate and his wife, Nikita, have three children — Dakota (age 16), Anthony (11) and Naia (3). The tight-knit group spends much of its time at various games and competitions.
He plays the saxophone and is very noble with a yo-yo.
“My favorite sport is baseball, because it’s of course the best sport ever but also because it’s always a challenge. You get three hits out of 10 at-bats, you’re considered great. I love the sound of contact when the ball hits the bat (preferably a wood bat), the view of a well-landscaped baseball field, and the peaceful feeling it gives me while watching or playing.”
